A very spiritual, and occasionally funky, Christmas special this month! The new Wah Wah Christmas EP features heavily, as do festive crackers from Electric Jungle, The Harlem Children's Chorus and James Brown. There are a few semi-festive nuggets too including music from Paul McCartney and Oompah Brass, plus some deepness that feels right at this time of year from Build An Ark and Jonathan Jeremiah. Add to that a sprinkle of cheeky re-edits from Emanative, The Funkees and Sun Ra, and top it all off with two of this year's greatest cuts from Matthew Halsall and Julien Dyne, and you've got a bumper package for Christmas morning and beyond! Festival Special Speedy's Audio Repair Show No.65
Hello loves! It's a right old mash-up this month in the spirit of the summer festivals. Scrimshire's string laiden intro is the calm before the storm as we head straight for the hip hop tent and catch J Period & De La performing a cover of a Tribe classic, Black Grass and Tombee saluting their hip hop idols, and Bristol's Hundred Strong dropping some brand new sonic science. We drop by to catch festival stalwart Alice Russell as remixed by the incredible Sean Lee, before popping into the dubstep arena for a couple of smashers from Ramadanman & Appleblim, and Martin Kemp (no, not that one!!). It's then time to relax a little as we're treated to a medley of tunes from Moodymann cohort Andres, before we get to the latin & jazz stage for music from Los Silvertones, Timo Lassy feat. Jose James and Pete Dunway. There's just about time from some classic disco from the Moton camp, before we round the night off with a couple of party rocking bootlegs courtesy of Monk-One and Pilooski.
